Looking For Different Engagement Ring Styles
Looking For Different Engagement Ring Styles
Engagement is the prelude to a more exciting day. The engagement ring represents a commitment. It is special. It can be exhilarating, enthralling, or even overpowering to explore the many beautiful engagement ring styles available. It didn’t ever seem that way for either the bachelorettes or the bachelor on the show The Bachelor, but perhaps the selected jeweler was advised to offer just the three or four engagement ring styles we the audience see the girls and then the bachelor choose from.
My special day is approaching. When I was looking, I had only to walk across the street from the restaurant where I waited tables, in the old-fashioned but stylish town of San Anselmo. There, a cool jewelry designer/goldsmith showed me a few traditional and modern engagement ring styles, and then offered to design a unique setting for me. I settled on the latter, and decided, with Drew, that the ring would have a quasi-tiffany setting that ramped significantly on the sides, making it replicate the Golden Gate Bridge—and making the diamond appear more marked, as the setting was raised significantly more than the traditional engagement ring styles typically are. This design, though it boasted a three-quarter carat diamond, also made me feel better, in spite of how little money my man and I in fact had to spend in a ring.
We were in the market for an engagement ring. This many years afterwards, however, I know that there are certain criteria to follow when going shopping in advance of time for particular or any engagement ring styles and designs. I imagine Drew, having been in business for over twenty years, knew these steps by now, thus saving me the need to explore, which was tougher in those days, as we didn’t yet have access to the net. In any case, here is what I know you keep in mind when taking into account engagement ring styles:
First, it is up to your likes and dislikes and depends upon what you want to or can spend. Next, the engagement ring style should be simple to wear, should be “sensible” for daily, all-day wear.
Next, the ring should be stylish and then well-crafted, so that the gemstones are firmly set and the prongs of the setting do not snag, etc. And lastly, according to a expert jeweler online, the ring has to look good. That’s where your particular taste matters.
Do you see the attractiveness and likelihood of the classic tiffany setting? Do you favor a round diamond or a square emerald? Do you want silver, platinum, yellow gold, white gold? How much can you pay for? One of my relatives, a self-made millionairess, wears a teardrop diamond on a special setting that looks like climbing vines. She is in a field where these kinds of engagement ring styles are customary, and she has long attractive, thin, fingers, so the spread of the design does not dwarf her whole hand. It all depends on you—who you are, what you want, and what you are able to come up with.
